Documents in the file include two speeches by the president, Josip Broz Tito, at the second Yugoslav Congress of Self-Management in May 1971, and at a session of the presidium of the Council of the Trade Union Federation of Yugoslavia in December 1971. Also included in the file are two reports on the self-management congress and subsequent developments, written by the labour attaché at the British embassy in Belgrade, which are accompanied by a glossary of terms used in Yugoslav labour relations. Other subjects discussed in the file include the question of whether the British Trades Union Congress (T.U.C.) would be represented at the self-management congress; and a strike by dock workers in Rijeka, which resulted in a large wage increase.
